Understanding Amazon Storage Costs

Understanding Amazon storage fee charges is crucial to ensure that you don’t receive a nasty shock from Amazon and that you are correctly calculating your net profit correctly.

Amazon typically charges two types of storage fees. These are monthly and long term storage fees for products held in their fulfilment centre.

Sellers should be aware that in addition to the monthly Inventory Storage Fee, long-term storage fees may also be charged by Amazon if applicable.

Storage fees are based on the daily average volume (measured in cubic feet) for space your inventory occupies in Amazon fulfilment centres.

The volume measurement is based on unit size when properly packaged and ready to ship in accordance with FBA Policies and Requirements.

Amazon reserves the right to make its own measurement of the cubic feet or weight of packaged units or representative samples.

In the event of any conflict between an Amazon measurement and information provided by the seller, Amazon's measurement will govern.
